Product Description

Black Beauty Orienpet Lily

Humming birds love to feed in this smaller, recurved, deep red flowers with white edges producing 15 to 40 flowers per stem. A nearly indestructible lily. Black Beauty Tiger Lily is hardy, easy to grow and produces a stunning show.  ‘Black Beauty’ ranks high in the North American Lily Society’s “Hall of Fame” for long-lived dependability in just about every area.

Orienpet lilies are cross bred between Oriental and Trumpet lilies making them extremely fragrant and much taller than any other lilies. Their blooms can resemble Tiger Lilies, Orientals, and Trumpets and can be re-curved (similar to Tiger Lilies), up facing (like Orientals), or side and down facing (like Trumpet Lilies) depending upon the parent lily they were cross bred with.  They produce huge and many blooms on their large, sturdy stems (from 4 inches to 8 inches across, more buds per stem than other lilies) and large-sturdy stems to support the massive blooms. Because they can grow to heights of over 6 feet from their third year on, staking is recommended so they will not fall or blow over. In most cases, they can withstand hot or afternoon sun and will adapt to most soils very well. However, they are best grown in morning sun and afternoon shade. They may take a little extra care but are well worth the effort!
