‘Nymph’ Orienpet Lily Bulb
According to the Greeks, nymph is a minor female deity regarded as a divine spirit who animates nature with dance and song and is depicted as a beautiful young maiden. This Orienpet certainly fits that description in your garden with her festive creamy-white blooms and her seductive rosy lipstick accents in the centers of each petal. Clothed in bronze-colored buds sets her red and white star-shaped flower apart from the other Orienpet hybrid lilies.
Orienpet lilies are cross bred between Oriental and Trumpet lilies making them extremely fragrant and much taller than any other lilies. They produce huge blooms (from 4 inches to 8 inches across) and large-sturdy stems to support the massive blooms. Because they can grow to heights of over 6 feet from their third year on, staking is recommended so they will not fall or blow over. In most cases, they can withstand hot or afternoon sun and will adapt to most soils very well. However, they are best grown in morning sun and afternoon shade. They may take a little extra care but are well worth the effort!
